Pleasant Valley has a great teaching staff who are versatile in teaching all aspects of the game. Whether you are a beginner golfer or an accomplished player, having an extra set of eyes on your golf swing is always helpful. All lessons are available for members and members’ guests only. Lessons usually last thirty minutes and are $50.00 from the Head Golf Professional, and $40.00 from an Assistant Golf Professional. Package rates are also available and are sold in packages of five lessons for the price of four.
The professional staff also offers video swing analysis with the V1 teaching program. These lessons will usually run forty-five minutes to an hour and will cost $75.00.
The Men’s Golf Association
The MGA is a popular golf association at PVCC and is a great group that promotes camaraderie among the membership. The MGA hosts a monthly shotgun held on a Wednesday or Thursday at 1:00PM. The MGA Play Days begin in March and conclude in November. The format of play changes from month to month, and the cost to join the Association is $80.00 per year. This fee includes two guest days where the member will receive complimentary guest fees, a November Holiday Party, and one free drink ticket on MGA Play Days. A sign-up sheet will be posted monthly for Play Days in the Golf Shop. You may call the Golf Shop or come in and sign up whenever the sheets are available.
Ladies Golf Association
The Ladies Golf Association has been one of the fastest growing organizations at Pleasant Valley Country Club. Play Days are every Tuesday at 9:00AM or 8:30AM during the months of June, July, and August. The format of play will change each week, and the season will run from the end of March to the end of October. This is a very active group that is open to all Lady Members regardless of skill level. The cost to join the Ladies Golf Association is $50.00 annually which includes all Ladies Play Days, Socials, and Guest Days. The Ladies Golf Association also hosts one of the premiere golf events in the State of Arkansas, The Alice Fryer Invitational. This is a three day, two lady scramble that takes place the first week of May.
Men’s Thursday Night League
Every Thursday night during the golf season PVCC hosts a weekly men’s event. This is a nine-hole event that shotguns at 5:30PM every week. These events are open to all Pleasant Valley golfing members and the cost is $10.00 per event. The format of play will change each week, and members may sign up for these events until 5:00PM the Wednesday of play. This is a great way to meet new members as well as enjoy Pleasant Valley Country Club golf course!
Junior Golf Program
Pleasant Valley boasts one of the best and most comprehensive junior golf programs in the state. Between our two, three-day summer camps and the Futures Academy, an intensive 17 week long program, there is something for the beginner to the aspiring junior golfer. Summer camps are held in June and July, while the Futures Academy begins in April and runs through the Junior Club Championship held in August. Pleasant Valley also participates in the PGA Junior League, which is a fun and social team-vs-team golfing league. In this league players travel to compete against other local clubs for a chance to play against national competition at prestigious venues. In the two years PVCC has participated, we have finished 1st and tied for 1st in its division sending a total of 7 players to participate in the Regional All-Star Championship. A fun year of junior programs is capped off in August when we hold one of our more popular junior events, the Parent-Child. This is a nine-hole modified alternate shot format that is open to all members regardless of whether they participated in any junior program. Following the tournament, we host our annual junior golf banquet, where we will recognize our junior camp and academy participants as well as the winners of the Parent-Child and the Junior Club Champions.
